The digital database of the Historical Archive of the Municipality of Lecce is currently under development and being prepared for online release.

Once live, the system will allow you to trace a document, a file, or a register within our heritage simply by entering a keyword. but searching for traces of the past is always an investigation that requires time, depth of study, and patience.

Note for Researchers: To search effectively, please use Italian keywords and terminology (e.g., search for “anagrafe” rather than “registry office”) as all original handwritten records, municipal minutes, and historical maps are in Italian.
